The starting salary for this role is £45,734 per annum for a 36 hour working week.
The Social Care and Education Support team provides specialist support for mission critical applications used across Surrey County Council (SCC). The team is part of the wider Enterprise Applications Portfolio which supports and delivers complex applications across Surrey County Council, East Sussex County Council and Brighton & Hove City Council.
The Social Care and Education Support team's main function is to implement, manage and support a varied applications portfolio used across SCC services. The team consists of a Team Leader, 8 Senior Application Specialists, 4 Application Specialists and 5 Customer Support Specialists.
Our goal is to maintain a Centre of Excellence and Best Practice in Applications Service Delivery by improving the support of current applications and associated integrated technologies.
In this role you will develop, manage and co-ordinate the critical activities of the assigned applications portfolio, focussing on management and technical service delivery.
You will provide day to day support for tactical applications along with implementing and transitioning to new technical solutions.
You will adopt best practice in application operations and exploit new technologies, including 3rd party supplier management.
To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:
- An in-depth technical knowledge/experience of tactical applications which underpin front line Social Care and Education service delivery
- Knowledge/experience of Local Authority Services and practises
- Analysis and problem-solving skills
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of IT service management (ITIL framework)
- Good knowledge and understanding of databases e.g. SQL 2019 Server
- Knowledge of delivering Citrix based applications and Microsoft AD
- Experience in a relevant supporting role for an organisation of a similar size and complexity as the Orbis partnership
- Experience of leading on projects
- Experience of leading teams
