The role

The Care and Health Improvement Programme is a grant funded area of the LGA that focuses on adult social care. Alongside our core priority workstreams, we run a number of high-profile projects, all designed to support councils to improve care and health services.

We are searching for an experienced Programme Support Assistant to work with us until 31 March 2022 to provide support across all aspects of our programme by:

  • Organising and supporting workshops/meetings with councils, local health and care system representatives and partners involving diary management, note taking and action follow up
  • Collating and inputting of data to maintain our Client Relationship Management system
  • Producing, formatting and distribution of documents and presentations following the corporate style. Updating of web pages.
  • Monitoring our enquiry email account, dealing with frequent questions, forwarding more complex requests and following up on responses and actions.
  • Hosting webinars to support presentations, breakout sessions, surveys, Q&A responses and recording, note taking. At present all of our events are virtual webinars. We anticipate holding some face to face events later in the year which will require attendance for venue liaison, registration, presentation support etc. Most of these will be in London, and occasionally at venues across England

The requirements

  • A good knowledge of office systems and procedures likely to have been gained from previous administrative experience.
  • Experience in the use of a range of software packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and the internet.
  • Experience in the production of documents and the collation and maintenance of information.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills with an ability to manage own workload and priorities in order to meet deadlines and respond to changing priorities.
  • Able to work under pressure, prioritising work against competing and challenging demands to meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to multi-task.

 

You must have the right to work in the UK, the LGA are unfortunately unable to offer sponsorship visas. Evidence for the right to work in the UK will be requested at the interview stage.
