We are looking to recruit a permanent (37 hour) full time Housing Income Officer.
Would you like to work with tenants to help reduce their rent arrears or stop them getting into arrears in the first place?
We’re looking for someone with credit control or income management and arrears experience who can rise to the challenge of maximising the council's housing rental income.
Applicants are expected to have knowledge of welfare benefits, debt and money management.
Early and preventative action are key, as well as striking the right balance between enforcement and support.
You will manage a patch of around 1,160 mixed urban and rural properties and will be performance-oriented as well as conversant with housing law and civil court procedures. This is a varied role that requires you to build effective relationships with colleagues, other teams and external organisations.
Charnwood Borough Council operates an agile working policy with a mixture of home working and office attendance.
Charnwood Borough sits within the three cities of Leicester, Nottingham and Derby. One third of the 167,000 population lives in the thriving university town of Loughborough, with its close proximity to the M1 and excellent direct rail links to London and the north. Most of the remaining two thirds live within the small towns and villages of the Wolds, the Soar and Wreake Valleys, Charnwood Forest and on the edge of Leicester.
Are you ready for a challenging and interesting role where you can make a real difference?
We look forward to receiving your application.
