Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is a high performing local authority and an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Finance Team on a six-month contract (with a possible extension for a further six months).
You will be dealing with cashiering of monies coming into the Council and with the processing of supplier invoices. We are always looking for ways of improving our services and you will be expected to suggest ways of enhancing the processes and procedures you carry out and to implement change.
You will have to use many different financial systems and as such we require you to be highly computer literate. You need to feel confident using Microsoft products (word, excel, outlook) and enjoy learning new accounting systems. You also have to have great communication skills and be comfortable using a variety of communication methods to liaise with internal and external customers.
The post requires great attention to detail and accuracy. We are looking for a team player with a positive attitude, who is willing to rise to a challenge and thrives under pressure.
