The role

Armed with excellent organisational ability, clear communication skills and a proven track record in both stakeholder and project management, you’ll work in a busy team delivering political and managerial leadership development programmes; strengthening and enhancing local government’s leadership capacity and shaping the ability of local government to lead improvements, partnerships and change in order to meet the needs of local communities.

This will involve a high complexity of project management, dealing with multiple moving parts; including commissioning and managing external service providers, working with our (around 60-70) council partners, encouraging new councils to sign up each year, as well of course, supporting high volumes of graduates to apply to and flourish on the NGDP.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work at a strategic national level on a growing and high-profile programme. You will work with a range of stakeholders, as well as use your creativity and experience to push for continuous improvement of the NGDP.

There will also be opportunities to be involved in other Leadership development programmes for councillors and officers. It’s important that you’re politically aware with the ability to exercise discretion, judgement and confidentiality when dealing with politicians and officers at every level.
