About the role

In this exciting and varied role within our Communities, Economy & Transport department, you will be working within the Economic Development, Skills, Culture & Infrastructure service which is focused on delivering sustainable economic growth in East Sussex. Overseeing the development and implementation of a strategic pipeline of externally led growth projects, the post will initially contribute to co-ordinating our responsibilities as local accountability body for the pilot Government funded UK Community Renewal Fund, with an opportunity for the post to be extended to support the Council’s potential role following the release of the Government’s forthcoming UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

In this integral role as Project Coordinator – Growth, you will join a high performing and supportive team where you will be able to develop your project management skills, knowledge and experience. A highly organised, natural communicator, with great interpersonal and problem-solving skills, you will become the point of contact for the East Sussex UK Community Renewal Fund projects which will be delivered by March 2022, alongside supporting other key areas in the team’s work portfolio. 

In doing so, you will need to liaise with internal and external partners, including the scheme promoters for the Community Renewal Fund projects; Councillors and the public. You will also provide coordination and support in budget management, research and report preparation, stakeholder engagement, administration and meetings.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.

Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.
