About the role
Caretaker – Hailsham Community College Academy Trust - Required to start as soon as possible
Hours: 37 hours per week, shifts between 7am and 10pm on a rotation
We are looking for a cheerful, motivated individual with a ‘can do’ attitude to work alongside the existing site team to provide an efficient and proactive caretaking service for our split site campus.
The successful applicant will carry out general caretaking and cleaning duties including, opening and closing the premises, basic maintenance/repairs, waste management, attend emergency out of hours opening and closing of buildings and engage in supporting hirers of our buildings during evening and weekends as required. You will be supporting and safeguarding the welfare of all persons, including during emergency situations.
The role will include health and safety checks of the premises and the successful candidate will be expected to undertake relevant training.
Normal working days will be Monday to Friday however you must be willing to work unsociable hours’ evenings and weekends and be available respond to various out of hours emergencies such as intruder alarm activations.
Previous experience of working as a caretaker in a school would be desirable.
