About the Job

Both of these posts will sit within the Commissioning portfolio that is dedicated to delivering an ambitious program of real transformation across a very diverse range of personalised services that will enable people to live as independently as possible. This includes Supported Living Services, Extra Care, Shared Lives and Rough Sleeping services.

This is an exciting opportunity to help deliver real change across all the aspects of the commissioning cycle to both develop and deliver strategic priorities in these particular areas. The role will include developing strategic direction setting for the portfolio, service redesign, contract oversight, performance management, market shaping and appropriate procurement compliance.

The post holder will take a lead on the commissioning, performance management and service development of areas within the portfolio ensuring the successful delivery of commissioning outcomes and value for money.

This is an important and challenging role in a significant time of change with an expectation of fast-paced delivery in a challenging landscape and an adaptable approach on the part of the post holder.

About You

The Council is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and efficient Commissioner to help drive up performance and deliver our ambitious program of change in the areas described. You should have experience in all aspects of the commissioning cycle and be able to critically appraise service delivery to develop innovative and creative local solutions.

You must be able to demonstrate experience of successfully commissioning excellent services and, given the specialised nature of the portfolio area, expert knowledge of Health and Adult Social Care, the wider Voluntary sector and service delivery.

Your excellent communication skills, knowledge and ability to identify creative solutions to complex challenges will be essential to your success in your ability to work as part of the team and deliver the best possible service that meet our resident’s individual needs.

You will have the ability to work in meaningful partnership with other colleagues across the Council and CCG, Providers, customers and other stakeholders to re-design service delivery and ensure that outcomes are achieved. The post holder will be required to write and present detailed and well-reasoned reports and business cases for the Adult Social Care Departmental Management Team and other senior boards.
