Your New Role

We have an exciting opportunity for either an experienced manager, or someone seeking a step into management, to work in the South Locality Team. 

As a Team Leader you will be responsible for supporting Social Workers at ASYE, main and higher grade level. You will also supervise a team of social workers supporting vulnerable children open to the department, who have child in need or child protection plans or are Looked After Children. The role requires the individual to ensure all team requirements are met regarding staff development, performance management, compliance with statutory guidance and local policies and procedures, quality assurance, budget management and supporting the delivery of our model of practice.

The post holder will be responsible for providing social work staff with regular supervision and supporting them to complete statutory tasks within timescales. The post holder will support staff development and learning.  The post holder will quality assure written work of their team and will assist social work staff in the analysis to support recommendations for ICPCs, court proceedings and out of home placements.  Supervision of social workers is required to assist with decision making processes about social work intervention. The Team Leader will have the support of their Service Leader where decisions are complex, involve removing children from their home environment or have significant resource implications.

What you'll need to succeed

Ideally you will be an experienced manager or an experienced social worker who has taken opportunities to supervise or develop colleagues or students and understands the value of social work intervention with very vulnerable children and their families.

You will have a recognised professional qualification in social work, excellent organisational and communication skills, and take pride in everything you do. You will be curious and creative and above all have a 'can do' attitude. You will be able to lead a team and work as part of a team and ensure that front-line practice contributes to strategic priorities.
