The vision for Barnsley Council is making Barnsley the place of possibilities. We are a Council with ambition, flair and imagination with a real drive and focus on continuous improvement. Our vision is working together for a brighter future, a better Barnsley. At its heart is a commitment to concentrate on providing services where they are most needed, where they will have the most impact and to help people do more for each other and their community. Our travel assistance service is a vital service for over 800 children and adults in the borough and now is a great time to be joining our forward thinking and dynamic service.
We are looking to recruit a number of drivers to join our busy expanding team providing travel assistance for children with special educational needs and or disabilities between their home and school or college, together with transport for adults to day care. Your working hours will be approximately 2 hours first thing in the morning and then a further 2 hours in the afternoon during the school term time.
You will need to enjoy driving, have empathy and patience with children and adults who have special needs and possess a polite professional manner. If you have these qualities, we would love to hear from you.
If you wish to discuss your suitability for the post prior to applying or have any questions concerning the role profile, please contact Sally Killips Group Manager Travel Assistance on 01226774191.
