Woking Borough Council has an enviable track record of successful Estate Management and aims to be fully self-financing in the near future. It now holds a large and highly valuable investment portfolio, consisting of around 500 commercial properties, including Peacocks and Wolsey Place shopping centres.
The management of such a large and diverse estate does not come without its challenges. This esate will also grow later this year with the completion of the £550m Victoria Square project. We have a clear policy to ensure the effective management of those properties already within our portfolio in order to increase revenue further.
In this busy and diverse role, you will manage a small high performing professional team and external professional advisors. You will take responsibility for all the acquisitions in train, lead on new acquisitions and act as the authority’s key contact for our Town Centre Management provider - as well as this, you will develop a programme of rent reviews and lease renewals to improve our effectiveness in this area.
Whilst it is essential for you to be MRICs qualified with significant experience in commercial estate management, it will also be your energy and ability to work with colleagues in a friendly supportive way that will deliver success.
