The council is set in a major tourism area with tourist attractions including Windsor Castle, Legoland and Ascot Racecourse and with the Royal Family on the doorstep, this is a good place to live and work. There are excellent transport connections to London and the west of England, with the new Elizabeth Line opening in Maidenhead in 2022.
This is an exciting time for Information Governance as we look to recruit to two new posts within our well-regarded and friendly team.
We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated information governance professional to join us in the role of Information Governance Team Leader. As a senior member of our team, you will have substantial experience operating within the parameters of information law and demonstrable experience applying the information access regimes successfully in a public sector setting or an equivalent, regulatory environment. You will have a proven track record of managing or supervising other team members, providing advice and assistance where needed and monitoring the organisation’s KPIs for information requests and local land charges.
The role will also serve as the council’s Deputy Data Protection Officer, supporting the Data Protection Officer in formulating the data protection strategy and monitoring the organisation’s and its partners’ compliance with the provisions of the GDPR and UK Data Protection Act. You will need to have the confidence to influence and support individuals within the organisation to change their working practices to better align with the ethos of accountability and privacy by design, and be able to deliver training to teams on information governance related issues.
Ideally you will be a fully qualified information governance practitioner, holding professional qualifications in an information governance discipline such as data protection, record management, freedom of information or privacy and risk management.
