At Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, we pride ourselves on access to local democracy and upholding the principals of good governance.
An opportunity has arisen for someone who wishes to help provide a comprehensive range of governance services, including support to various council meetings throughout the municipal year.
Reporting to the Principal Governance Officer, you will play a full role in the democratic life of the council: being responsible for the preparation of committee summonses, agendas, provision of advice during meetings, report preparation and ensuring an accurate and timely record of meetings is made
This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and meticulous attention to detail. This is a small team, so we need a good team player who welcomes and responds positively to change as we are in the process of a council-wide modernisation programme.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
