New Directions College is Reading Borough Council’s Adult Community Learning and Skills service.  This year we’re celebrating 63 years of Adult Learning in Reading.

We’re a small friendly College delivering to over 2000 learners and Apprentices each year, directly and through our subcontractors and partners. We offer both regulated and non-regulated courses, traineeships and Apprenticeships.

We are looking for an exceptional Curriculum Manager who will drive forward our Foundation Learning offer and the quality of education within their curriculum area.

This includes vocational education below Level 2, Traineeships, Sector Based Work Programmes, Employment Support and skills and community-based provision designed to support the needs of local communities and businesses.

You will also lead on developing and delivering two brand new initiatives; our brand new Hospitality Skills programme, focused on supporting the sector ‘build back better’ and addressing the education and skills needs of those affected by COVID-19 and our ambitions to broaden our local offer for Adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Supported Internships.

You must have previous teaching experience within further/adult education and be an experienced programme or curriculum manager. You should be capable of designing, developing and resourcing new learning programmes against the backdrop of ESFA AEB funding rules and regulations and should be able to clearly demonstrate the core principles of adult and community learning.
