About the role

The Governors and Headteacher at Battle and Langton Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work in our popular, friendly and supportive school. We are a happy, caring and inclusive school. Every child is known and nurtured to achieve their full potential. The school is well resourced and has outstanding facilities and grounds, which are used fully to support the children's learning.

The role may include working 1-1, with small groups of children as well as the whole class. The working times will be between 8.45am and 3.15pm.

The successful candidate should:

  • have experience of working with children who display a range of special educational needs including social, emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • have a calm, patient and friendly manner with children
  • have the ability to use their own initiative and with the support of other school staff, be able to adapt according to the child's individual needs
  • be flexible and learn quickly
  • have a 'can-do' attitude and can display resilience within their role
  • feel confident to manage behaviour effectively and seek advice when needed

The successful candidate will be required to participate in whole school activities and to support the Christian ethos of the school.
