Internal Auditor

Permanent. full time

Salary: SO2 £32,418 - £34, 209

We are looking for an enthusiastic Internal Auditor to join our high performing team. Working in collaboration with colleagues across the Council, the Internal Audit team provides independent assurance that the Council’s risk management, governance and internal control processes are designed and operating effectively. The team also aims to identify areas for improvement in Council processes.

This is a wide-ranging role as it includes working with the Council’s partner organisations and Council’s commercial ventures.

This role provides exciting opportunities to work alongside our partners at London Borough of Waltham Forest. There are also opportunities to broaden your profile and knowledge base as we are part of a Cross Council Assurance Service consisting of a number of Councils that co-source Internal Audit functions with a co-sourced provider. The Cross Council Assurance Service provides opportunities for auditors to network and share intelligence. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious candidate wanting to advance a career in Internal Audit.

Relationship building with colleagues across the Council, including senior management, is key to this role and you have the experience, confidence and credibility to do this.

You have excellent written and verbal skills and can explain complex issues in simple terms. A team player, you are also able to work independently using your own initiative to deliver high quality outputs within agreed deadlines. An analytical approach to problem solving and being able to identify practical solutions to problems are also part of your skillset.

As a team, we are always looking to improve our service and you will be committed to this too. You have a flexible approach and are willing to undertake other internal audit projects such as advisory and fraud prevention reviews.

We are passionate about our people and how we deliver services to our community in Enfield. That’s why we encourage a culture that puts our customers at the heart of everything we do - by empowering our people to work together to find solutions, be open, honest and respectful, take responsibility and listen and learn. If you value these behaviours too, we’d love to hear from you - and of course we are always #Happy to Talk Flexible Working.

We offer a wide range of benefits to all employees including an excellent pension scheme, interest free season ticket loans and support for career development and learning experiences. Full details of the benefits offered are available on our website www.jobs.enfield.gov.uk
