Salary: Grade 8, £24,319 to £27,041 per annum pro rata

Hours: 37 hours per week for 6 months or 27 hours per week for 8 months

Through the Isle of Wight Council's partnering arrangement with Hampshire County Council and in our joint efforts and investment to improve performance and outcomes for children, we are recruiting for a  specialist housing personal adviser to join the Leaving Care Team as part of our plan to eradicate rough sleeping.

To be a Personal Advisor to all 16 to 18-year-old children and young people in care / care leavers and key worker for those care leavers aged 18 years old and above. To be an active member of the Leaving Care Team having high aspirations for young people. As a Personal Advisor you will be involved in planning, delivering and evaluating a range of activities, opportunities and services to young people including:

Please note that this role falls within the strategic partnership between the Isle of Wight Council and Hampshire County Council. The employer will be the Isle of Wight Council and employment is on Isle of Wight terms and conditions. Hampshire County Council delivers, on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council, all of its children’s services functions and did so for an agreed period of five years from 1 July 2013, the original five year partnership arrangement under direction of the Secretary of State finished in 2018 but has been extended voluntarily by both local authorities for a further five years.

The management reporting line for this role is ultimately through Hampshire County Council Children’s Services Director/Assistant Director and managers who take operational responsibility for children’s services.
