Salary: Grade 11, £30,040.54 to £32,277.57 per annum plus an annual market supplement taking the annual salary to £35,390.54 to £37,277.57 per annum
Hours: 30 per week, Negotiable work pattern
The Isle of Wight’s Youth Offending Team (IOW YOT) is looking for an Assistant Team Manager to join their busy team.
This exciting opportunity requires a suitably qualified worker (with relevant experience in a similar field) to contribute to the operational management of the IOW YOT. With experience of case management, staff supervision and multi-agency working, you will provide Line Management to a number of YOT staff (including Restorative Justice, Parenting and Prevention) and contribute to the overall performance of the YOT through your day to day role.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate application of their knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and guidance and a commitment to continuous improvement of high-quality services through development of professional links and effective use of resources. They will also be able to support and motivate staff within a solution focussed approach to ensure key objectives are achieved and represent the YOT effectively at a number of forums.

Please note that this role falls within the strategic partnership between the Isle of Wight Council and Hampshire County Council. The employer will be the Isle of Wight Council and employment is on Isle of Wight terms and conditions. Hampshire County Council delivers, on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council, all of its children’s services functions and did so for an agreed period of five years from 1 July 2013, the original five year partnership arrangement under direction of the Secretary of State finished in 2018 but has been extended voluntarily by both local authorities for a further five years.
The management reporting line for this role is ultimately through Hampshire County Council Children’s Services Director/Assistant Director and managers who take operational responsibility for children’s services.
