We have a vacancy for a Category Manager Communities and Wellbeing to work within a busy Commissioning Service delivering procurement and contract management services corporately across West Berkshire Council.
You will have at least three years’ experience of working within public sector commissioning; ideally with some knowledge of public health, health or social care procurement. The successful candidate will advise senior managers and service areas on the procurement process in line with the Council’s Contract Rules of Procedure and Public Contracts Regulations 2015 to achieve value for money and cashable savings from procurement activity.
You will take a proactive approach to identify opportunities in procurement for innovation on line with the Councils strategic direction for a category management approach to service delivery. This will include working closely with service areas to develop category plans.
You will have excellent analytical skills and advanced excel skills. You will be leading on the end to end commissioning cycle, producing reports and analysing data for senior managers and the Council’s decision making boards when required.
The ability to accurately assess and interpret statistical data is essential as well as the ability to communicate with a range of people both verbally and in writing.
If you are numerate, organised and able to prioritise and manage a complex work load then this role is for you.
This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
