Eastfield House, Huntingdon or Hinchingbrooke Country Park with some home working.

The Project Support Officer is a key role within the Councils Operations team to implement some significant improvements planned in open spaces around Huntingdonshire

Investment packages have been secured to improve facilities and infrastructure at Hinchingbrooke Country Park, Riverside Huntingdon and Riverside St Neots between now and 2023.

The project work has started where officers will undertake all works required in advance of the physical building works
The role will include:

Preparation and application to planning for permission to build at HCP in consultation with Cambridgeshire County Council
Development of 99 year lease for HCP in collaboration with Cambridgeshire County Council and appropriate legal teams
Liaison with contracted project management company to maintain timelines and continuity across all three projects, ensuring accountability and swift decision making
Supporting effective communication, both internally and externally, with effective reporting systems
Communicating with stakeholders and facilitating co-operative working,
Maintenance of all project documents including risk management, minutes and reporting systems to ensure transparency
Preparation of documents for presentation to councillors via Scrutiny and full council
Attendance at council meetings and stakeholder engagement sessions
Formal and informal consultation with key partners (for example: Public, other Local authorities existing regular user groups and stakeholders).
Procurement of items required for individual stages of each projects. Maintenance of full budgetary records
Development of communication plans for each site, and maintenance of social media presence
Development of interpretation to fully engage with users
The role will support the Countryside Manager and individual Project Managers who each have responsibility for leading the 3 developments and be actively involved in all stages of the projects providing a driving force with direct impact on the efficiency and overall success of the project. This requires excellent communication, organisational skills, logical thinking and problem solving.

Some of the main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

Monitoring and reporting on progress, resources and finance/costings
Contribution to the drafting of specifications, processes
Overseeing project stages, mitigating risks and solving issues
Providing critical input at all stages of the project to inform task and direction
Undertaking quality assurance through collation of data, auditing or compliance checks
Scheduling meetings and setting agendas for the project team
Internal and external stakeholder management
Updating project records and documentation
The ideal candidate will have great communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to demonstrate the accuracy and attention to detail required for this role to ensure the project remains on track.

This is a full-time role on a fixed term 2 year contract.

At HDC we work flexi time to support our employees and you will be required to work from Eastfield House in Huntingdon or Hinchingbrooke Country Park or from home. You will be required to attend / site meetings and occasionally work weekends and evenings as part of this role.
