We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly skilled and motivated individual to be part of the team responsible for Licensing, Emergency Planning and Event Coordination.
This role specifically deals with all Taxi and Private Hire applications, variations and permits. The role includes the inspection and enforcement regarding Taxi / Private Hire businesses and licensed premises and you will actively participate and work within the Community Safety Unit, which is a co- located office with Kent Police. You may also be involved with the work of officers who deal with Environmental Crime, unauthorised encampments, Parking Enforcement and Community Safety issues.
You will also play a key role in the planning, preparation, development, maintenance and validation of the Council’s emergency arrangements and other measures necessary to comply with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. You will be responsible for interpreting and applying the relevant legislation and guidance to drive forward the preparation for, response to, and recovery from any emergencies internally or externally in the Borough of Dartford. You will be involved in all aspects of emergency planning, working closely with partners from all resilience agencies in Kent and Medway.
Excellent organisational and analytical skills are required to problem solve and effectively manage competing deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to convey complex information clearly and efficiently are essential, along with the ability to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders among the Council and its partners.
We are looking for a strong team player, capable of being part of a team whilst carrying out their own workload in a busy multi agency office environment.
This is a full time post, some out of hours and weekend working may occasionally be required. You should hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle for which a mileage allowance will be paid.
