Job Ref: CYP-21-018
Job type: Full-time 35 hours
Closing date: Sunday 4 July 2021, 11:59pm
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £51,567 - £53,574 per annum (PO7)
We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist and two Family therapists who are willing to work in new and innovative ways with children and families to ensure they receive the right help at the right time. We are looking for applicants who can bring skills, experience and enthusiasm to meet the needs of children/young people and their families with complex emotional and mental health needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our newly redesigned Meliot Family Centre and First Response Team. The Meliot Family Centre works with children and families known to Children Social Care providing family support, contact supervision and undertaking parenting capacity assessments. The First Response Team works with children who are deemed to be on the edge of care, utilising a number of approaches to keep children within their families and return children home from care.
We have expanded and developed the existing Meliot Family Centre and First Response team to establish an enhanced Edge of Care Family Support Service. This service will help create more sustainable family resilience, to reduce the need for long term or repeated periods of statutory CSC services and support more children and young people to stay safely within their naturally occurring networks, avoiding the need to be, or stay, in care.
The Family Therapists and Clinical Psychologist will support in developing this new specialist service which aims to improve longer term outcomes for children and families. This is an opportunity to deliver therapeutic support to children and families and to lead on the provision of therapeutic, evidence based interventions. The post holders will work alongside social workers and practitioners across Children Social Care providing consultation to social care staff and participating in group supervision.
