We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Children & Adult Services Directorate, as the ‘SQL Database Report Writer’.
To succeed you will need:
The ability to use SQL through RDBMS systems such as SSMS and Oracle Developer to produce complex reports and provide management information. This is essential.
To work with customers to develop report specification criteria.
The demonstrable ability to use well developed communication skills to present/complex sensitive information in an understandable way to a range of audiences
To be a true team player, you will be customer focused, have excellent communication skills and work well under pressure.
It is essential for the post holder to have:
Good general level of education (Five GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths & English)
High level of numeracy and literacy, oral and written, and with a relevant computing related qualification.
Proven track record of producing complex SQL reports from large/multiple databases using different technology
Able to build complex reports using SQL/Visual Studio – minimum 1 year implementation, design and build experience is essential
Strong experience in the use of SQL to extract data
Be able to test and validate reports once completed and ensure quality standards are met
Must be able to meet tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities
Standard DBS check
It is desirable however for the post holder to have:
Knowledge of reporting tools such as SSRS, PowerBI & Crystal
Experience of working in a Local Authority with Education, Youth Offending or Social Care Systems
