Job introduction

Creativity, nurture and excellence are at the heart of everything we do at Peter Gladwin Primary School. Through growth mindset, our children are encouraged ‘to be the best they can be’. The children are praised for challenging themselves and taking risks in their learning. In our most recent Ofsted we were judged to be Good, the inspector noting that ‘the school’s motto, Dream, Believe, Achieve, is at the heart of all you do. Your belief is that every child can achieve’. Our positive partnership of child, parent/carer and teacher is central to our children’s success at Peter Gladwin and beyond.

Peter Gladwin is situated in the heart of Portslade old village, close to the South Downs. We are so fortunate to have a wonderful school with beautiful natural grounds. This space lends itself to the provision of many and varied outdoor opportunities for our children. We are a trauma-informed and attachment-aware school, with our children’s safety and wellbeing at the heart of all we do.

Paid weeks per year: 52

Start date: 2nd September 2021 (or, if notice period required, 1st November 2021)

About the role

As part of our continued growth, we are keen to appoint a highly-motivated and inspiring Inclusion Co-ordinator who has a passion for working with vulnerable children and experience of working with young people with a range of complex learning needs and disabilities. The successful candidate will bring an innovative and creative approach to supporting the direction and development of the SEND provision at Peter Gladwin, with the ability to turn ideas into reality whilst effectively managing and developing the progress and achievement of our pupils. If you are looking to join a dedicated team in a one-form entry school, we would like to hear from you. You should have experience of improving the quality of provision in an area you have led, with a proven record of impact regarding SEND and success in achieving progress for disadvantaged students. We are looking for someone with strategic vision and commitment who knows how to bring an innovative approach to improving performance and support for our pupils and their families.

An excellent communicator, you will act as an ambassador for Peter Gladwin Primary School and will have demonstrable experience of working in partnership with parents, local authorities and other stakeholders. If you are a highly-motivated and forward-thinking individual, this could be an excellent opportunity for you to join our Rights Respecting school.
