The starting salary for this position is £31,273 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.
Surrey Registration Service is one of the largest registration services in the country providing a key role in the everyday functioning of civic society by recording life events of individuals such as registering births, deaths, civil marriages and partnerships and citizenship.
We aim to become the leading provider of wedding and celebratory services in the south east. To do this we are seeking bold, creative and agile thinkers who can help us move forward and innovate as part of a team which consists of 110 permanent members of staff, plus 25 casual members of staff.
With approximately 3,500 ceremonies delivered annually across 120 licensed venues in the county, marriages and civil partnerships are a significant part of our business. In addition, the service registers over 17,000 births, 12,000 deaths and 2,500 new British citizens annually, as well as producing over 25,000 copy certificates.
This is a newly created role that is both strategic and hands on, to drive the sales and marketing of the service. Coming from a similar role, you will be a self-starter who inspires our team with your passion and energy.
You will create and implement a marketing strategy to raise the profile of the Service and build brand awareness to increase ceremony bookings and meet income targets.
Currently the Service has no social media presence, so you will create a presence and then deliver posts, images and video content on channels including Facebook, Instagram and other relevant platforms. You will monitor and respond to messages and comments on social media posts in a timely manner.
You will build on current relationships and expand the portfolio of licensed wedding venues across the county to ensure that there is a wide and varied choice of venues available for couples to choose from.
You will be instrumental in developing and delivering new income generating services to expand the business offer to customers.

The base for this role is Leatherhead Register Office, The Mansion, 70 Church Street, Leatherhead, KT22 8DP however there is a need to frequently travel to other venues, therefore you will need to have the willingness and ability to travel around the county to meet the demands of this role.
