About the role
We have an excellent and rewarding opportunity for a Team Leader to join the Finance & Benefits Assessment team within Adult Social Care Financial Services for a 12 month period.
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day line management and support to the team. The team’s main roles include:
- completing financial assessments for clients receiving chargeable care and support arranged by us
- supporting clients who are in financial hardship
- providing advice and guidance to clients and the public on charging for care.
You’ll support the team to make discretionary decisions based on regulations and local policy.
You’ll need to communicate with clients, their representatives and professionals by telephone, letter and email. Our customers require varying levels of support therefore excellent customer service skills will be required.
You’ll need knowledge of working with computers including Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office. You’ll work on a number of bespoke database systems for which you will receive full training and ongoing support.
Due to the requirements of the role you need to work on your own initiative and be organised, self-motivated, collaborative and empathic and have an understanding of the needs of vulnerable people.
If you’re successful you will benefit from access to on-going training as well as excellent standards of support and supervision.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
