The Council is seeking to recruit a member of staff to join its dedicated and professional Control Operator Team. The working environment is a busy 24 hour Control Centre, where the Team monitor Lifeline Clients and deal with out of hour’s duty officer calls. The role is to provide support, advice and action an emergency response should the call demand it.
This service operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year. The shifts are 6am to 2.30pm, 1.30pm to 10pm and 9.45pm to 6.45am.
Unsociable working hours form an integral part of this demanding post and the post-holder will be expected to be flexible in their approach, with a willingness to work other shifts occasionally should a need be demonstrated.
The successful candidate will be expected to be proactive in their approach to problem solving and a calm disposition with the ability to multi-task is also a vital requirement. It would be an advantage if the post-holder had Control Centre experience however training will be provided. The post-holder will be based at a purpose built Control Room Suite at the Civic Centre in Folkestone.
