The East Sussex Youth Offending Team is looking to recruit a Senior Youth Justice Practitioner who can demonstrate a high level of professional practice and a good understanding of the issues related adolescents and the safeguarding issues that may arise through their involvement in anti-social and criminal behaviours as well as their exposure to criminal and sexual exploitation.
This role, which is based in Eastbourne (Hampden Park,) will sit within a multi-disciplinary team delivering youth justice services including, but not limited to, community and custody based interventions, restorative justice and provision of services to the criminal courts. As part of the broader service development for adolescents in East Sussex, the YOT plays an active in the development and delivery of contextual responses and a willingness to work innovatively and flexibly to meet the needs of this cohort is essential for the role.
You will be self-motivated, organised, able to engage adolescents to complex and challenging presentations and deliver a broad range of trauma informed interventions to reduce the risk and harm associated with their offending and exposure to exploitation. As a Senior Youth Justice Worker you will deputise for the Practice Manager as required and will be responsible for the supervision of Youth Justice Workers. You will also undertake an educator role; supporting learning and practice development across the service.
