We are pleased to be able to offer the exciting opportunity for 3 x Client Affairs Support Officer (CASO) posts. One permanent following staff progression and two new Fixed Term 12 months posts to support with increased work load, for Appointeeship & Deputyship Team (ADT) within Adult Social Care Financial Services.
You will be responsible for supporting the team to manage the financial affairs for vulnerable clients who receive care and support from ESCC. You will deal with general queries via post, email, and telephone calls. You will support the team to review clients’ finances, including benefits and income applications, payment of bills and expenses.
An important part of the role will be to assist with the day to day banking, which will include reconciling accounts, making payments and checking client accounts for errors and irregularities. This can be a demanding role so you will need to be able to work well under pressure and have high levels of numeracy.
You will need to work with your team members and professionals from other Adult Social Care (ASC) teams and external organisations, to make sure clients are receiving the best service

You will be joining a small and supportive team who are passionate about the service they deliver.
We support people who are particularly vulnerable due to their care and support needs, so you need to be empathetic.
Due to the nature of the role, and the current home working arrangements, it is important that you are organised, self-motivated, pro-active, and collaborative.
You will need knowledge of working with computers including Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office. You will work on several bespoke database systems for which you will receive full training and ongoing support.
You will also have 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths with grades C and above.
If you are successful you will benefit from ESCC’s excellent standards of support and supervision.
COVID-19 update: Please note that East Sussex County Council is currently following Government’s advice on enabling staff to work from home if it is safe and practical to do so. Therefore, this role will be delivered remotely in an Agile way to begin with until the Council makes any changes to these working arrangements.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
