We are a small District Council in South East Essex with good public transport links. We are currently working agilely, with a combination of working from home and from the office, as appropriate.
About the role
The successful applicant will cover maternity leave for the Civic Officer and will be responsible for a range of administrative support for the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Council and diary and email management for the Leader of the Council. The role involves the planning, organisation and attendance at Civic functions, events and engagements (e.g., Civic Dinner, Chairman’s Garden Party, Holocaust Memorial Day Service and Citizen of the Year Awards), which may include occasional evening and weekend work. The postholder will also be responsible for the day to day supervision of the Civic Chauffeur and Support officers to ensure the co-ordination of their workloads.
In addition to excellent verbal and written communication skills, the successful applicant will also require excellent literacy skills and a robust, working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Experience of scheduling activities and of developing and improving systems would also be an advantage. Are you up for the challenge?
