Fareham Borough Council are looking for a driven and ambitious Economic Development Officer to advance and implement the delivery of a new Economic Development Strategy.

Our focus on the economic wellbeing of the Borough has never been more significant and we need you to support the progress of economic development initiatives to help us succeed.

You will need to have significant proven experience in the field of Economic Development as well as a good understanding of the overall nature of businesses, communities and residents alongside strong analytical experience to support the formulation of strategy and policies.

You will be an excellent communicator, with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people across a variety of sectors, building valuable relationships inside and outside of the Council whilst representing the Council in a positive way.

Effective negotiation skills will be key as will the ability to drive projects and proposals forward, sometimes to tight deadlines.

You should be politically aware and have an understanding of the sensitive and challenging issues this role will bring and the flexibility that this requires.

You will need to proactively focus on what matters to our residents and the Borough as a whole, shaping our economic future for the benefit of all.
