At Springwell Park we are seeking to appoint a Learning Mentor to join our well-established, dedicated and passionate Pastoral Team.

As a learning mentor, you'll work closely with individuals who are struggling with social, emotional or behavioural problems that affect their ability to learn. You'll work alongside teachers and other staff, identifying the needs of learners who require help and how to overcome barriers that are preventing them from achieving their full potential. The successful candidate will provide targeted support in 1:1 sessions, group sessions or working in the class with the child.

The successful candidate will also play a significant part in raising the attendance and punctuality across school, providing support for families and pupils who have barriers to attending school. The successful candidate will monitor and track attendance on a daily basis, develop attendance initiatives and report to the Senior leadership team on a weekly basis. The successful candidate will work with the Education Welfare officer to hold regular attendance panels.

This is a full time, term-time only position and the successful candidate will provide a complementary service to teachers and pastoral staff to support primary-aged children.

The successful candidate will be a key member of our pastoral team and should have relevant qualifications and proven experience of working with pupils and families with varying social and emotional needs across all age ranges.

The position is 12 months Fixed Term in the first instance.
