North Somerset Council is going through an exciting period of transformation. Our ambition is for North Somerset to be open, fair and green; a place where all our residents have the opportunity to live their best lives and to enjoy a high quality, sustainable environment with access to great education, jobs, housing and travel.
We are working to create a place of opportunity where people can live safely, be happy and have purpose. We’ve declared a climate emergency and set ourselves the target of making North Somerset carbon neutral by 2030. This is rightly ambitious, and we are determined to deliver our own services more sustainably while also fulfilling our community leadership role to help others with their own climate responsibilities. We are committed to putting climate action and nature at the heart of our Covid recovery.
For the next phase of our Climate Emergency Action Plan, we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic person to bring inward investment to the Climate Emergency team. This person will contribute to the success of North Somerset’s climate goals by identifying project financing opportunities from the public and private sector. They will also prepare and complete compelling business cases and bids for climate and energy related projects, working directly with the Climate Emergency Project Manager as well as with other teams from across the Council.
The right candidate be educated to degree level or similar and will have experience of writing bids and business cases. They will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be computer literate.
For an informal discussion, please contact Nicola Webb, Climate Emergency Project Manager on 01275 884835.
Anticipated interview date: Week Commencing Monday 28 June 2021
