Knowsley Council invites applications for the post of Head of Adult Social Care.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced leader to join the existing Adult Social Care Senior Management Team and to build upon our successes and achievements in improving services and outcomes for the people of Knowsley.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic local authority with the successful candidate having specific responsibility for all Adult Social Care assessment and care management services including physical and learning disability services, older people’s services, mental health services and multi-agency safeguarding. The post holder will also be responsible for early intervention and prevention services including hospital discharge, reablement and rapid response services.
The successful candidate will provide dynamic leadership and strategic vision to drive forward the transformation agenda in Adult Social Care, ensuring that an asset based approach is embedded across the service and that residents are supported to maximise their independence.
As well as experience of leading Adult Social Care services and delivering transformational change, the successful candidate should have exceptional communication and engagement skills along with experience of working collaboratively with Elected Members, partner organisations, community groups and other key stakeholders to improve outcomes for residents. A successful track record of delivering savings, efficiencies and service improvements within a health and social care setting is also essential.
Fundamentally, this role is about driving better outcomes for vulnerable adults. This also means ensuring and sustaining quality of practice, performance and having a confidence in social work and social care practice. The successful candidate will be a qualified social worker and will be registered with Social Work England.
Knowsley Council is a dynamic environment which will provide significant opportunities for you to shape a place for future generations. If you have a track record of delivery and want to work in a place like this, then we would like to hear from you.
