Temporary Local Land Charges Officer (EDEV041)
37 hours per week
Salary : £20,903 pa - £23,080 pa
The Local Land Charges Team at Mid Sussex District Council provides property searches for home movers across the district. We are a small, friendly, high performing team, looking for a very organized individual with a proven ability to adjust to changing priorities, and meet exacting deadlines.
This is a 12-month temporary post, to assist in providing an interrupted search service while we transition part of our provision to Land Registry in Spring 2022.
Attention to detail and an organized methodical approach are crucial to this post, as well as a good level of computer literacy. You will ideally be familiar with the Mid Sussex District and have an interest in Planning and Building Control. Map reading skills would be an advantage, along with experience of digital mapping (GIS). Knowledge of Local Land Charges is not essential as we will provide you with the necessary training.
The successful candidate must be disciplined and conscientious, whilst maintaining an awareness of the time pressures of the role. We operate within short turnaround times in a busy industry and need to continually prioritize a variety of tasks in order to deliver a fast, accurate and efficient service to our customers.
Whilst the job is demanding, it is also very rewarding, delivering an important service to the residents of Mid Sussex and helping to make the purchase of their new home or property as smooth and stress free as possible.
The role is based at the Council offices in Haywards Heath, but some home working will be required on a regular basis.
Along with this opportunity to enhance your career we offer free staff parking, subsidised gym membership for you and your family, mutually agreeable flexible working arrangements and both a generous pension scheme and annual leave entitlement.
