Are you a hardworking, highly organised individual, with knowledge of current safeguarding legislation and the ability to deliver training and drive programmes of activity? If so there is an opportunity to apply for the post of Safeguarding Specialist.

Reporting to the Health, Wellbeing and Partnerships Senior Specialist the post holder will help to ensure the Council meets its safeguarding responsibilities on both child and vulnerable adult safeguarding and will assist in ensuring all activities required by the Kent Safeguarding Children’s Multi- Agency Partnership (KSCMP) and the Kent & Medway Safeguarding Adults Board (KMSAB) are coordinated and acted upon with support and guidance (including section 11 Audits).

The post holder will also act as a Single Point of Contact for the organisation in dealing with reports or concerns about the protection of children, young people and adults at risk appropriately - through provision of support to front line staff and liaison with partner agencies.

There will be a requirement to deliver key safeguarding training courses across the organisation and to a variety of audiences (including members) and to support matrix working across teams on linked safeguarding work including community safety partnership initiatives (CSP) and Community Safety Unit (CSU), Community hubs supporting vulnerable people and other related projects that make this role interesting, innovative and extremely rewarding.
