Due to a growing demand for our meeting and event space, we are looking to recruit a Hospitality Assistant to work within our Hospitality Team. The post holder will work with the team to find new and innovative ways to deliver our Hospitality offer across a number of buildings throughout the district.
This job offers an exciting opportunity to develop event coordination skills and work with a variety of internal and external clients. Working closely with the Facilities Support Team, we provide a service across Lancaster City Council venues whilst building upon opportunities within our commercial assets. You will liaise with local and national businesses to grow the reputation and offer available to the district. Our events range from exhibitions and conferences to weddings and concerts; we always strive to deliver the best customer service; and attention to detail is incredibly important. Therefore, experience within the Hospitality industry would be beneficial and enthusiasm is essential.
The hours of work are 30 hours per week on a rota basis, which will include evenings and weekends. This post is based at multiple Council sites across Lancaster and Morecambe. The post is temporary until 15 March 2022.
A full current UK driving licence is essential, as the post holder will be required to travel between sites in order to deliver our hospitality offer. Reasonable adjustments can be made for those who are unable to drive due to a disability.
The post holder will be subject to a criminal record check through Disclosure Scotland to enable them to become a Personal Licence Holder for the sale/supply of alcohol.
For internal applicants, this role can be a secondment opportunity. The secondment of an employee from another Service can only take place with the agreement of the Manager of the Service the applicant is contracted to.
