We are looking for an Infrastructure Specialist (Networking) to support all aspects of operational availability.  Ensuring services are maintained, robust and accessible whilst providing high quality technical support and providing advice guidance and fault resolution.

Specific responsibility for managing three Infrastructure Maintenance Officers which includes day to day management of the Data Centre, incident and problem resolution for all areas of responsibility within pre-determined service level agreements. 

The candidate must have a good understanding and experience in networking technologies, ideally in the following key systems:

  • Cisco ACI Nexus 9000
  • Cisco DNA Center, catalyst 9000 Series
  • Cisco Wireless,
  • Cisco ISE
  • Cisco Firepower Management Center / Firepower Threat Defence
  • Fortinet Firewalls
  • VPNs
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP
  • Wireshark

 

The successful candidate will need to hold a Level 6 vocational qualification, minimum of 5 ITIL credits, and desirably hold a relevant Cisco qualification (CCNA, CCNP etc.).  Flexibility to occasionally work out of normal office hours, and work in an on-call rota is essential.  The role will be flexible to allow for home working, but the candidate must be available for site visits within the borough of Barnsley.

This is an outstanding opportunity to work with and lead a small team of enthusiastic network engineers.  Working together on complex issues and projects, driving change for efficiencies and new technologies.
