About The Job

As a Data and Information Officer you will be part of the team that ensures good quality, affordable care is available for all our residents. Working proactively with the existing and emerging markets you will develop relationships with customers and providers that ensure services are responsive and meet needs.

This will be a challenging, dynamic and rewarding role and we are looking for individuals who have the appropriate aptitude and skills to make a difference for some of the most vulnerable residents in our society including children with disabilities, children who are looked after, older people with dementia, those with mental health needs or learning disabilities, others with long term complex health or continuing health care needs.

You will be responsible for managing a number of low to medium value contracts to ensure performance is achieved at the appropriate level. The contracts will vary in size and complexity depending on the services being offered and the outcomes required.

The role will collate performance information through the set up and management of routine monitoring processes including regular contractor meetings. Supported by a manager and the broader team, you will identify performance issues, agree performance improvement plans and use your knowledge of the performance levers within the contracts to improve performance and/or apply penalties.

Experience and Skills

Key Skills:

  1. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to research and analyse data from a variety of sources and produce qualitative information with minimal guidance.
  2. Highly computer literate with sound and accurate IT skills in order to manipulate complex data and produce reports using a variety of software.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present analysis and findings clearly, concisely and accurately to a range of audiences in ways that promote understanding.
  4. Advisory, negotiation and persuasion skills in order to encourage others to adopt a particular course of action.
  5. Sound problem solving skills with the ability to analyse complex issues and diagnose business solutions, making logical and rational decisions based on all information available.
  6. Ability to organise, prioritise and plan own workload to meet deadlines and targets.

Qualifications and/or experience:

  • Relevant degree, or equivalent qualification or experience demonstrating that level of applied knowledge in data/information management.
  • In-depth and significant theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of data collection, data management and complex statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local, regional and national initiatives, guidelines and policies, particularly regarding data and information management.
  • Broad based knowledge of relevant service units, organizational policies, procedures and practices and performance measures.
  • Demonstrable evidence of developing data management systems.
  • Experience of undertaking complex statistical analysis and detailing findings to a wide range of audiences.
  • Demonstrable evidence of organising and handling large amounts of data and of producing high quality reports in order to inform business decision making.
  • Experience and confidence in dealing with people and the ability to establish credibility at all levels of the organisation.
