We would like to recruit a highly motivated person to deliver the Council’s Green Infrastructure Strategy, update and deliver the Rushmoor Biodiversity Action Plan and promote biodiversity within the Borough. You would be the principal adviser and expert to the planning team assisting with conservation and environmental issues environmental improvements, landscape and nature conservation, and arboriculture.
You will provide advice and guidance to colleagues, Council members and the public ensuring that Council policies and actions enhance biodiversity conservation. You will develop and promote partnerships to deliver ecological and biodiversity conservation objectives. You will be responsible for the provision of the Council’s ecological responses to planning consultations as well as providing advice in regard to the Council’s duties in relation to management of its land and buildings.
You will have a qualification in ecology, conservation management or other relevant field and, ideally, experience of dealing with planning issues. You should have a pragmatic approach to problem solving and be willing to work as part of a team.
The post provides the opportunity to be involved in a diverse range of biodiversity projects both corporately and within the community.
