This is a temporary part time post 18.5 hours per week to start as soon as possible until 12 months from recruitment.
Those wishing to be considered for a secondment opportunity must agree this with their line manager.
We have some temporary funding to offer to work alongside the SENDIASS Manager, this would involve sharing case work demands to enable the manager to undertake other functions. Would you like to be part of an exciting team that works with Children, Young People and Parents Carers? SENDIASS is a fast-paced service that provides, Information, Advice and Support to parent’s carers, children and young people in the Local Area, this is around Special Educational Needs and/or Disability. The role is busy but rewarding and involves working across the borough to work with service users individually and in groups, it involves giving support in meetings with key partners and providing support before, during and after appeals and mediation processes. The idea candidate will need to be able to work as part of the team and on their own initiative. You will need to be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and work towards achieving outcomes for children and young people. Knowledge of SEND legislation and guidance is required along with the desire to undertake any relevant training to support the role. It will require someone who has the skills to work with a wide range of people to seek positive outcomes and have the skills and confidence to work under time pressures to meet the demands that the variety in the role requires. In return the SENDIASS manager will mentor and support you in the role alongside service user case work needs.
