About the Post:
Barnsley Safeguarding Children Partnership is the organisation responsible for agreeing how services and agencies work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in the borough and ensuring that they do so effectively. The three ‘Safeguarding Partners’, the Police, the Local Authority and Health work together with a wide range of organisations to formulate the local arrangements for safeguarding children, in consultation with key stakeholders including children and young people. The aim is to ensure that children and young people are effectively safeguarded from harm and support them to thrive to achieve their best outcomes in life.
About the job
We're looking for a dynamic and experienced manager to provide strategic level leadership and support to our safeguarding partners, being instrumental in driving forward service improvements and quality assuring how each partner agency safeguards and promotes the welfare of children, ensuring that learning from safeguarding practice reviews informs and improves future safeguarding practice.
This high-profile role is essential in improving safeguarding arrangements and front-line inter-agency practice, where you can really make an impact to improve safeguarding for children and young people. Listening to the voice of young people and their families is key to our service development and in this role, you will develop participation and engagement strategies, to inform and improve service planning and delivery. You will also engage and consult with key stakeholders and member agencies of the BSCP to support system wide learning, improvement and that strategies, policy and procedures are joined up across the children’s partnership, including the South Yorkshire region.
We need someone who is passionate about safeguarding children by providing a clear understanding of best practice and detailed knowledge of safeguarding. You will be educated to post graduate or degree level in a related field and experienced in working with partner agencies at a strategic level. You will be self-motivated and experienced in management or leadership, with the confidence to manage, oversee and advise on safeguarding with detailed understanding of statutory and relevant guidance, knowledge of policies and procedures and the ability to provide specialist advice and information to others.
