East Sussex Children’s Services

East Sussex Children’s Services has been successful in securing funding for a Digital in Care Programme Manager post to help us develop our Digital Hub supporting young people in care and care leavers to develop their digital resilience.  You will help us create the digital hub, building upon digital activity already in place, creating the right resources and training for carers and workers to support young people.  Central to the digital hub will also be the Digital Ambassador Network including care experienced young people, foster carers and social workers.  These ambassadors will  support their peers in accessing the right technology, safely and positively.  You will also help create the Digital in Care Strategy.

About you

You will be a resourceful, passionate and motivated individual who has experience of working in Children’s Services with a good understanding of technology (though you do not need to be an expert at all) and a good understanding of the issues facing children in care.  Critically you will have project management skills and be able to set up and implement programmes and focus on sustainability.

You will be comfortable working alongside senior managers, as well as frontline staff, and young people supporting them to create strategies, resources and networks that are relevant, helpful and proportionate.

We welcome applications from all sections of our community and for this post we particularly encourage applications from people of Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds.

Our support

Our progressive development programme will enable you to further develop your expertise in children’s services and this will be supported through induction, reflective supervision, mentoring,  and bespoke training. We want to recruit those that are already motivated and have the skills and knowledge to make a difference for our workforce.  But we don’t expect you to sit on your laurels, the kind of people attracted to this role will constantly be wanting to learn and develop and maximise the many opportunities working for ESCC provides.
