About the role
We are looking to appoint a passionate, creative and solution-focused individual to our established and experienced team of Early Years advisers.
The Early Years’ Service, part of ESCC’s Inclusion Special Educational Needs and Disability (ISEND), is a County-wide service and travel will depend on service need. The post advertised will be based in our Eastbourne team and predominately cover the Eastbourne, Hailsham and coastal strip areas.
You will be part of a specialist service for Foundation Stage children with SEND and/or complex medical needs. Your role will be to provide high quality advice, support and intervention for children across the EYFS with complex SEND. Early Years Advisers, as part of ESCC ISEND Provider Services, plan for better outcomes for early years children with SEND across home, pre-school settings and schools.
We are looking for a qualified teacher with extensive experience of children across the range of complex special educational needs, disabilities and/or medical needs. We are specifically looking to recruit someone with experience of working across the age range 0-5 years. You will have a secure knowledge and experience of the developmental levels and Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, showing how to fully include a child with SEND. You will also require a sound understanding and current experience of SEND practice and legislation.
The successful applicant will become an integral part of this highly regarded team, promoting excellent inclusive practice in schools and settings, whilst working in partnership with families and other agencies.
This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau).
