About the role
Could you be our next school caretaker?
We are looking for a reliable, friendly and conscientious caretaker for our thriving Catholic primary school in Lewes.
As caretaker you’ll be an important part of our school community, taking pride in maintaining and improving our school building and grounds and enjoying working with a friendly school team. You need to be the sort of person who likes to be organised and enjoys using their initiative to fix things and help people.
It’s a part time role – 4 hours a day from 7.30am to 11.30am. We provide training - so whilst experience is welcome, for the right person it’s not essential.
Responsibilities include: Maintaining high standards of care and cleaning of our school. Monitoring cleaning staff to ensure high cleaning standards. Basic building maintenance and DIY. Responsibility for the security of the school site including opening up in the mornings. Monitoring grounds maintenance. Undertaking Health and Safety checks and generally maintaining a safe environment for our 20 staff and 130 pupils.
If you’re successful you’ll be working in a friendly, positive place where everyone really enjoys their job and looks forward to coming to work each day.
We would very much encourage potential applicants to visit the school, allowing for current Covid guidelines. Please call the school office on 01273 473017 to book an appointment and to find out how to submit an application.
