STG Building Control is a partnership between the building control services of Canterbury City Council, Gravesham Borough Council, Medway Council and Swale Borough Council.
The Partnership is hosted by Medway Council and our offices are based in Rochester. The opportunity to work remote/agile is encouraged.
We are seeking to recruit a qualified Building Control Surveyor to work flexibly across boundaries within our existing team of remote/agile surveyors. We are keen to speak to customer focused Building Control Surveyors with plan checking and site inspection experience.
As a member of the Building Control team, you will be knowledgeable in carrying out Building Control functions at all competency levels, such as checking Building Control applications, site inspections, carrying out enforcement procedures and attending to dangerous structures. In addition, you will use your extensive knowledge of Building Control to assist in the promotion of and commercial aims of the service.
You will need
Membership of CABE, CIOB, RICS or equivalent
Conversant with relevant legislation and technical guidance
Previous in-house or external building control experience
Ability to manage a caseload of building control works at different stages of build
Current valid driving licence
