Job Title: Specialist Advisory Teacher for Specific Learning Difficulties
Location: North Herts & Stevenage and St. Albans & Dacorum (2 roles)
Salary Range: MPS / UPS + SEN Allowance (pro rata for part-time)
Hours: 0.6 (North Herts) 0.8 (St Albans)
We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced and qualified teacher looking for a new challenge. This is a specialist teaching role and the Level 5 and 7 (SpLD) qualifications are essential. Candidates must have L5 SpLD qualification at appointment and there will be an expectation to gain the L7 qualification on appointment to the role for candidates who do not already have it.
You are invited to apply to join our friendly, supportive team of specialist advisory teachers for specific learning difficulties, working successfully throughout Hertfordshire to support children and young people, their families and educational settings with addressing significant reading, spelling, writing and number difficulties.
You will have extensive experience of supporting pupils with pupils with difficulties in acquiring core skills. A full driving license is essential.
You will have recent experience supporting children in schools or currently work in an advisory service. You also need a thorough knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, with excellent interpersonal skills, work well within a team and be able to work to deadlines.
A key function of ISL SEND Specialist Advice and Support (SEND SAS) is to ensure that the educational and developmental progress of children and young people (0-25), with a range of SEND, is met in line with the Hertfordshire Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Strategy and HCC strategic objectives.
