Delivering fibre broadband and now gigabit capable, full fibre broadband across South Yorkshire is a key priority of the Sheffield City Region. Gigabit broadband is being rolled out rapidly - from one in ten households in 2019 to almost two in five today. Superfast South Yorkshire are helping deliver the broadband infrastructure required to make South Yorkshire a well-connected place.
Do you understand the benefits of gigabit capable, full fibre broadband? Could you creatively promote these benefits to diverse audiences, and explain the new social and economic possibilities that getting connected brings?
Your role in our journey
As Project Officer you will be supporting the Superfast South Yorkshire team to deliver and promote the availability of broadband infrastructure across our region.
Examples of such activities include, but are not limited to:
- Checking and assuring contractual documentation
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations
- Organising and attending events, workshops, and surgeries
- Preparing and distributing promotional materials and communications
- Attracting and engaging relevant audiences through social media
- Responding to customer enquiries about broadband availability and options
- Processing of ‘Planning Condition’ consultation requests for gigabit capable, full fibre broadband infrastructure
We are looking for a highly motivated and approachable individual with experience of working in a fast-paced project environment.
What you’ll need
You must be able to build effective professional relationships, set expectations, and have a working knowledge of the digital tools and channels available to communicate key messages to relevant audiences and stakeholders, working with partners, businesses, communities and local public sector networks across South Yorkshire.
You’ll need to effectively prioritise a variety of workloads and use your experience of project coordination, delivery and communication to ensure deadlines are met. You will regularly communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including managers, employees, councillors, partnership agencies and the general public as required to ensure the effective delivery of projects.
We're looking for someone with outstanding excellent IT skills and be advanced in their use of Microsoft Office 365 especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel but also the new apps such as Microsoft OneNote and SharePoint.
