Community Engagement Officer (Active Blaby)
£22,627 - £25,991 per annum
37 hours per week
12 month Fixed Term Contract up to 31 March 2022 with potential for extension dependent on funding
Our Health, Leisure and Tourism Services Team at Blaby District Council is committed to providing a first class service to our residents by delivering programmes and interventions that aim to improve their health and wellbeing.
We are looking to recruit an individual to be responsible for the engagement of residents and partners to the newly created Active Blaby programme. The Active Blaby programme incorporates a Case Management System with an integrated behavioural questionnaire with the development of a website to support residents to become more active. The outcomes for residents are behavioural support and potentially a referral to a community activity. COVID-19 has had a profound effect on residents’ behaviour so we need to re-evaluate how we can support active behaviours with this in mind.
This role is a wonderful opportunity for someone to take the lead of gathering insights to allow co-production of the new Active Blaby website, define and test online and physical resources to support behaviour change and create and implement an engagement plan and to help residents design a tool that works for them.
Your engaging and inquisitive personality will generate insights from the public by building rapport and maintaining relationships with a wide range of people in different situations and settings. Your experience in working in communities will help you access groups and organisations to enable this.
This position will initially, in line with current government guidance be based from home and this is likely to be the case for the foreseeable future. If and when government guidelines change the role may revert to being office based for some of the time
