Regulatory Services at Barnsley protect the health, safety and well-being of those who live, work in and visit the borough through a variety of Public Health and Animal Welfare facing roles. The Dog Warden role is very much an integral part of our team, ensuring stray dogs in the borough are captured to avoid the spread of disease and public safety, and ensuring they are kept safe while we try to reunite them with their owners.
Creativity, ambition, team work, and a focus on people. That’s what matters at Barnsley Council. Our award-winning council is on an exciting journey of change. It’s all about putting local people at the heart of everything, listening to and doing good for our communities. We’re now more innovative, more efficient and provide better value for money. The changes are clear to see - from new businesses and jobs, to improving school results and to museums being recognised for their community engagement.
